Kim Kardashian shared experiences with Tesla's Robot and Cybercab

Kim Kardashian recently got an up-close look at Tesla’s latest technology, sharing her experience with her followers.

On Monday, the entrepreneur and reality TV star posted a video of herself interacting with one of Tesla’s humanoid Optimus robots, captioning it, "Meet my new friend."

In the clip, a white Optimus robot stood in a grassy area, responding to Kardashian’s greeting with a wave. At one point, Kardashian made half a heart with her hand, and the robot completed the gesture, surprising her. “You know how to do that?” she reacted, clearly impressed. The robot added to the playful interaction by mimicking running motions with its arms, which amused Kardashian.

By Tuesday afternoon, the video had garnered 8.1 million views on X (formerly Twitter) and was reposted by Tesla CEO Elon Musk, who responded with a sunglasses emoji.

Later on Monday, Kardashian shared another clip featuring a gold Optimus robot seated in the driver’s seat of an open Tesla Cybercab. “Hey guys, my ride is here, the new Tesla Cybercabs,” she joked, before greeting the robot with, “Hi, sir.” In the video, Kardashian also admired the vehicle’s design, exclaiming, “Oh my God, look at these rims.” She captioned the post, “Optimus is here to take [me] for a ride in the Cybercab.”

While it’s unclear if Kardashian’s interaction with Tesla’s products involved personal purchases or an exclusive demo, the star does own a Tesla Cybertruck. However, her playful videos don’t show the Cybercab actually driving, and Tesla’s recent “We, Robot” event revealed that the showcased Optimus robots were human-controlled rather than fully autonomous. It’s likely Kardashian’s experience was similarly mediated.

Kardashian didn’t mark her posts as sponsored, a legal requirement for influencers in paid partnerships. Regardless, her history with Tesla suggests she’s already a fan of the brand. Interestingly, TMZ recently reported that she was pulled over for overly tinted windows on her Cybertruck — perhaps an issue Optimus can help with in the future.
